Jacobs Engineering Group has received a one-year extension contract from the Energy Department to continue environmental remediation efforts at the Columbia River and parts of the decommissioned Hanford nuclear production site.
The company said Wednesday it will extend work under a previously awarded 10-year contract through Sept. 20, 2019.
Services include demolition, radioactive material retrieval, ground remediation and waste disposal. Additional work covers revegetation completion, slab removal, maintenance of the Fast Flux Test Facility and sodium waste disposal.
DOE said it extended the company’s support services at Hanford site as the department conducts a competitive procurement process for a follow-on contract.
