Cameron Chehreh, chief technology officer of Dell EMC’s federal business, has said technological advances and modern platforms can help agencies to develop agility in missions, reduce the attack surface and address vulnerabilities in information technology systems.
He told FedScoop in a video interview that aired Friday IT innovation has become an imperative for the government sector due to the cybersecurity risks that legacy systems pose to the computer environment.
Chehreh added he believes automation offers an opportunity for agencies to not only deliver citizen services, but also to accelerate threat response and understand the risk landscape.
When asked about his observations on federal digital transformation efforts, he replied that agencies increasingly are adopting cloud computing platforms and tapping into new technology such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
He said adoption approach and users are key components of an organizational culture in modernizing operations and infrastructure.
