Army Aims to Deliver Battlefield Edge via Distributed Common Ground System; Raytheon’s Todd Probert Quoted

The U.S. Army plans to come up with an interconnected platform designed to collect and transmit intelligence data to warfighters as they navigate the battlefield through the Distributed Common Ground System-Army program, Defense One reported Thursday.

Raytheon has demonstrated its proposed offering, FoXTEN, for the DCGS-A competition.

“We’ve been maturing the look and feel, the user interface, thinking though how to make training more intuitive,” Todd Probert, vice president of mission support and modernization at Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business,” said of FoXTEN.

“It gives the commanders a site picture that they’ve never had before,” he added.

The report said the company’s FoXTEN system is designed to collect drone feeds, signals intelligence, satellite images and human intelligence data to provide warfighters a real-time view of the battlefield.

Raytheon is one of the two companies that won spots on the potential $876M contract in March to help the service address tech requirements for the DCGS-A program.
