Alion Science and Technology has received a $49.8M contract to support the Army Futures Command in developing prototypes of military technologies using resources from public and private sector entities and academic institutions.
The company said Monday it will assist the command’s Army Applications Lab in curating systems and techniques needed to produce advanced technologies for U.S. Army forces operating in dense urban environments.
The effort is part of AFC’s mission to understand the future operating environment, emerging threats and new offerings to meet the changing requirements of American warfighters.
Steve Schorer, president and CEO at Alion and a 2018 Wash100 recipient, said the company agrees with national security community sentiment that an entrepreneurial approach is needed to counter safety threats and that Alion welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the Army’s mission.
