The U.S. Air Force‘s 45th Test Squadron at Eglin AF Base will test and evaluate a radar installation Lockheed Martin has built to help the military service track objects currently in orbit, NWF Daily News reported Sunday.

Lockheed developed the Space Fence on Kwajalein Island in the Republic of the Marshall Islands under a $914M contract awarded in 2014.

The surveillance radar is designed to monitor as many as 200,000 space objects.

Eglin’s test personnel will conduct developmental tests on the system through 2019.

The Air Force aims to commence operations at the Space Fence early next year and looks to install a second radar facility in Australia.
