AeroVironment, General Dynamics Partner to Offer Combat Vehicle Systems for Army, Marine Corps - top government contractors - best government contracting eventAeroVironment has partnered with a General Dynamics business unit to offer autonomous drones and tactical missile systems for the combat vehicle modernization programs of the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps.

AeroVironment said Monday it will integrate its offerings such as the Switchblade loitering missile and Shrike 2 vertical takeoff-landing forward flight system into General Dynamics Land Systems’ Griffin III demonstrator and Stryker A1 30mm vehicle.

The two companies intend to meet the requirements of the Army’s Next Generation Combat Vehicle and the Marine Corps’ Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle programs.

“The purpose of this partnership is to deliver a decisive advantage to ground combatants, to see first and strike first, across the tactical landscape,” said Don Kotchman, U.S. vice president and general manager of GDLS.

He added that providing warfighters with increased situational awareness, survivability and over-the-next-obstacle lethality will shape the tactical market in the future.
