Xerox has received Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program authorization to deliver cloud-based managed print services to federal government agencies seeking to decrease printing efforts.

The company said Tuesday its cloud-based printing offering will help agencies reduce paper use and unnecessary printing, manage energy consumption on all eligible agency electronic products, boost printing security and migrate document security to the cloud.

Mike Feldman, president of North America Operations at Xerox, said the company’s MPS has aims of allowing agencies to redirect resources to deliver their core missions and serve the public.

Xerox developed MPS under a contract with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which sought to simplify its workspace environment and meet the demands of a modern workforce.

Mark Newscastle, USFWS printing officer, said the agency’s integration of Xerox’s MPS caused a 90 percent reduction in maintenance costs.

Xerox’s managed printing service includes a FedRAMP-compliant cloud infrastructure, National Institute of Systems and Technology-certified application and architecture design, and Federal Information Processing Standard controls and encryption for Xerox devices, among other things.
