IBM has won a $14.8M contract to deliver a neural inference system and complementary support services for the U.S. Air Force.
Under the contract, the company will study, design, develop, test, integrate, document, implement and deliver the Northpole neural inference machine, the Defense Department said Thursday.
Work will take place in San Jose, Calif., through June 20, 2019.
The service branch immediately obligates the entire contract amount that combines funds allotted for fiscal 2017 through 2018 research, development, test and evaluation.
The Air Force Research Laboratory solicited for the contract competitively and received two proposals.
