Todd Probert, vice president of mission support and modernization at Raytheon‘s intelligence, information and services business, has said the company uses a crowd development approach to identify innovation partners and new technologies such as artificial intelligence.
“We are leveraging the power of the crowd,” Probert wrote in an article published Friday on Breaking Defense.
He noted that Raytheon is building a team of commercial technology professionals from outside its organization in a push to generate breakthrough ideas in areas such as logistics chain management, imagery data exploitation and threat identification.
The company has partnered with and invested in multiple companies working on AI, cybersecurity, analytics machine learning and autonomous platforms.
Probert said Raytheon made the investments to help accelerate projects and integrate new tools with the firm’s product offerings.
“We know everyone benefits when we work together. Because when it comes to artificial intelligence, no one company can do it alone.”
