The Nevada Department of Transportation has awarded Parsons a two-year contract to provide engineering design services to support statewide efforts aimed at reducing road traffic accidents.
Parsons said Tuesday that it will design roadways, roundabouts, pedestrian access areas, traffic calming strategies, bike lanes and street lighting in accordance with the department’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan.
“Our team is thrilled to continue improving traffic safety throughout Nevada—using innovation and technology to help people safely reach their destinations,” said Mike Johnson, a Parsons group president, said the company seeks to use technology to help people safely reach their destinations.
Under the services agreement, the firm will also coordinate with state and local agencies as well as the NDOT Traffic Safety Engineering department to integrate new technology for statewide road safety initiatives.
Parsons has supported NDOT over the past decade.
