NASA wants input from the aviation industry and related sectors on the agency’s plan to formulate a service-based air traffic management system meant to support autonomous and collaborative flight operations.
A FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday says NASA looks to levearage fast-time and human-in-the-loop simulations that will focus on the National Airspace System’s northeast region as part of the eXploration initiative’s increasing diverse operations subproject.
The effort seeks to update the concept, architecture and supporting technologies that the agency plans to use to demonstrate its proposed ATM system.
NASA introduced the project in an effort to accommodate traditional aviation users and manage diverse vehicles and missions in future airspace.
The agency will accept responses to the sources sought notice until Sept. 28.
