Fluor Leverages IBM Watson to Develop Predictive Analysis Tools for EPC Projects - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Fluor has partnered with IBM to develop big data analytics and diagnostic tools to track the status of engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction megaprojects in real time.

Fluor said Thursday it leveraged IBM Watson’s artificial intelligence and analytic technologies to produce the EPC Project Health Diagnostics and Market Dynamics/Spend Analysis tools.

The predictive analysis systems are designed to foresee issues based on patterns throughout the execution of the projects, form insights from various factors and determine the potential impact of program modifications.

The effort is part of Fluor’s global data-centric transformation plan.

“Five years ago we began investing in predictive analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities to further evaluate performance and determine critical project outcomes as a part of our data-centric journey,” said Leslie Lindgren, vice president of strategic programs at the engineering firm.

She added that Fluor will use EPHD and MD/SA on various megaprojects to analyze patterns in structured and unstructured data that can provide benefits to clients, stakeholders and the company.
