DHS Requests Info on Surveillance System for Biothreat Response Missions - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Department of Homeland Security has posted a request for information to determine the availability of a nationwide subscription-based system of early medical data integrators and users that can help the DHS to respond to biological threats.

A FedBizOpps notice posted Sept. 13 says DHS’ National Biosurveillance Integration Center looks to use a platform that would offer health data sources and locations needed for homeland security missions and allow personnel to assess human health and biological risks using multiple data layers.

The system should work to modernize biosurveillance products and services and comply with the government’s health information security and privacy regulations.

NBIC is interested in using the medical data integrator platform to help increase the center’s situational and biothreat awareness and further inform public sector organizations in charge of protecting civilians from threats to human health, safety and security.

DHS will accept responses to its RFI notice until Oct. 1.
