Unisys Lands Potential $219M Georgia Cloud IT Contract - top government contractors - best government contracting eventUnisys has received a potential eight-year, $219M contract to provide a hybrid cloud platform meant to help government agencies in Georgia manage citizen services delivery efforts across the state.

The contract with the Georgia Technology Authority has a base term of five years and six months and three one-year options and calls for Unisys to serve as a cloud broker, the company said Tuesday.

The Blue Bell, Pa.-based information technology firm will provide the state access to public cloud platforms from Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, oversee the state’s data storage and computing environments and deliver patching, asset management, troubleshooting, tech refresh and deployment services as the cloud broker.

“This contract award illustrates the GTA’s commitment to a more efficient shared services business model that delivers a more desired outcome for its citizens,” said Michael Morrison, vice president and general manager for Unisys in the U.S. and Canada.

Unisys will equip the hybrid cloud with the firm’s Stealth microsegmentation software to ensure security and assign a team of IT associates at its Augusta, Ga.-based office to support the state’s digital government program.

Dean Johnson, GTA chief operating officer, said Unisys will begin to provide services under the contract in January 2019.
