The Social Security Administration plans to award Microsoft a potential 5.5-year contract to support the agency’s information technology projects.
AÂ FedBizOpps notice posted Sunday the company would provide tools and services to help the SSA update software and hardware configurations, design a future network, integrate new technology into the agency’s client and server environment and plan migration efforts.
Microsoft would also provide developers, source code and internal business plans under the possible sole-source contract.
SSA expects work to take place at the agency’s headquarters in Woodlawn, Md.
The contract will have a one-year base period, four option years and an additional six-month option period.
