Northrop Grumman has made an agreement with Verdugo Fire Communications to modernize dispatch systems in California to boost the operational capability of emergency response personnel and services in the state.

The Falls Church, Va.-based firm said Friday it will initially deploy its CommandPoint computer-aided dispatch technology and CommandPoint Mobility products to the Glendale Fire Department to upgrade the latter’s legacy dispatch systems.

The CAD technologies will help refine the quality of information that flow among 911 callers, dispatchers, fire and rescue stations, and mobile units.

Nathan Daniels, program manager for first responder solutions at Northrop Grumman, stated that implementing an organized dispatching process can change outcomes.

The U.S. Navy has also adopted CommandPoint at various locations in the U.S. to upgrade the service’s contiguous emergency management systems.
