KBR’s government services business has received a five-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to train U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircrew on the effects of high levels of acceleration, or “G”, during flight operations.
KBRWyle will immerse about 600 students in a hands-on training program about high-G environment in the company’s centrifuge, which creates realistic acceleration forces from flight missions, KBR said Wednesday.
The firm’s pool of students will include those from the Naval Flight Demonstration Squadron or the Blue Angels, and those from the Chief of Naval Air Training, Naval Strike Air Warfare Center and Chief of Naval Air Force units.
The company will also supply necessary support services such as personnel, resources, facilities and maintenance for the training program, as well as help the Navy safely plan and conduct its missions.
The task will be performed in San Antonio, Texas. KBRWyle previously won a similar high-G flight training contract in 2013.
