DLH Corp. has won a $5 million contract to support healthcare operations at the U.S. Navy’s Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth,Va.

The Atlanta, Ga.-based firm said Tuesday it will provide integrative and comprehensive care to medical home port patients at the NMCP complex and at the center’s Oceana and Virginia Beach facilities.

As part of the project, DLH will use information technology tools such as the Armed Forces Longitudinal Technology Application, the Comprehensive Health Care System, the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set, CarePoint and the Integrated Clinical Database.

“It is an honor to expand our healthcare services to our sailors and their families as they put themselves at risk every day for us,” said Kevin Wilson, president of DLH’s Health and Logistics Services unit.

The task order contract has a five-year base period and four one-year options.

NMCP has nine branch clinics throughout the Hampton Roads area and provides healthcare services to local civilians as well as sailors and their families.
