Mitre has certified Avaya as an authoritative body to help customers and other organizations identify vulnerabilities in their data management systems.
Avaya said Tuesday it can issue CVE identification documents and inform customers about other weak points of products included through the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures Numbering Authority program.
“This is an important step in our cybersecurity efforts, to partner in CNA with Mitre to help identify cyber threats, and to contribute to this comprehensive global program,†said Laurent Philonenko, senior vice president for innovation at Avaya.
Philonenko added the company will work to proactively search for vulnerabilities, develop and provide security updates and disclose cybersecurity issues to safeguard customer data.
Avaya is the 88th CVE Numbering Authority that received the designation from Mitre.
