Five companies have won contracts worth up to $1M each from the U.S. Army to build a big data management platform designed to integrate and analyze information from various data sources and carry out forecasting and predictive analytics functions.
The service posted the award notices Thursday in support of the two-phase Army Leader Dashboard program that calls for contractors to provide a commercial software platform that will work to visualize data from structured and unstructured datasets and facilitate the decision making process for senior military leaders.
The awardees are:
- Accenture’s federal services business
- Deloitte
- EY
- Microsoft
- Palantir USG
Under the ALD program’s first phase, the contractor should deploy the software prototype on a laptop computer, deliver application program interfaces and conduct studies and analyses with regard to the platform’s data management function, according to the statement of work.
Phase 2 calls for the contractor to continue configurations, field the platform on mobile devices and scale the platform to additional military users.
The technical requirements for the ALD prototype include data integration; analytics and visualization; and security and infrastructure.
