SpaceX’s Crew Dragon Wraps Up Thermal Vacuum Tests at NASA’s Plum Brook Station

Janet Kavandi, director of NASA’s Glenn Research Center, has said a SpaceX-built spacecraft has left the agency’s Ohio-based Plum Brook Station for Florida following the completion of a series of acoustics and thermal vacuum tests, SpaceNews reported Monday.

Kavandi issued the statement Monday at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics’ Propulsion and Energy Forum.

The Crew Dragon spacecraft will head to NASA’s Kennedy Research Center in Florida for final testing and integration with SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket in preparation for its uncrewed test flight in August and manned flight test in December, according to the report.

SpaceX and Boeing each received four additional missions from NASA in January 2017 to bring astronauts to and from the International Space Station as part of the agency’s Commercial Crew Program.
