S. Sita Sonty, a more than 15-year foreign service veteran and previously a senior adviser for legislative affairs and administration at the State Department, has been named vice president of international business at Sierra Nevada Corp.
She will work at SNC’s Washington, D.C office and manage a product portfolio designed for the aerospace, defense and national security sectors, the company said Monday.
Sonty concurrently served as executive secretary of DOS’ international security advisory board and managed global strategy within the Political Military Affairs Bureau.
As a DOS senior adviser, she helped oversee foreign military and direct commercial sales programs for the South and Central Asian regions. She also worked as senior political desk officer for Indian affairs and as attache for cultural and educational affairs at the U.S. embassy in Croatia.
Prior to her more recent role, Sonty worked at Raytheon as director of national security and foreign policy.
