Richard Cody, senior vice president of L3 Technologies‘ Washington operations, will retire from his role after a 10-year career at the company.

He concurrently chaired the military electronics producer’s political action committee and previously served as the U.S. Army‘s vice chief of staff for four years, L3 said Monday.

Christopher Kubasik, L3’s president and chief executive officer, said Cody has been “instrumental in analyzing defense policy and the geopolitical environment, as well as maintaining our relationships with military customers and legislative leaders.”

Cody held various command and staff positions during his more than 36 years at the Army.

He received military awards and decorations that include Defense Distinguished Service Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross in addition to being inducted into the Army Aviation Hall of Fame.
