Vic Torla, director of business development training and logistics solutions at Lockheed Martin‘s rotary and mission systems business, said in a Shepard Media report published Wednesday the company expects the certification for the Hercules Full Mission Simulator to be completed by September.
The Hercules Training Center co-located with the aircraft production and collection facility in Marietta, Ga. will provide C-130J and LM-100J simulation for customers without exclusive training devices, Torla told the publication.
CAE developed the FMS that also allows C-130J Block 6 and 8.1 configurations for the HTC that features Lockheed’s Scalable Advanced Graphics Engine and Multifunctional Training Aid, training devices and classrooms, the report said.
Torla noted that the HTC will first cover initial and instructor qualification, refresher courses and mission trainings such as for loadmasters and will be expanded to include fuselage operations for aerial refueling.
Potential clients include French and German air forces until they have their own training center, and Denmark and Norway air forces, which currently use the Defense Department‘s Aircrew Training System, Torla stated.
