Perspecta Lands ‘Other Transaction’ Agreement With DISA to Build Background Investigation System

Perspecta has received an “other transaction” agreement worth $49 million from the Defense Information Systems Agency to build a prototype of a case management system designed to speed up background investigations.

The company will work with Accenture’s federal services business, Pegasystems, Next Tier Concepts and Torch Research to develop the National Background Investigation Services Investigation Management Shared Service platform, DISA said Monday.

The NBIS IM platform will offer an interface for users that perform background investigations and will be developed through the use of the Scaled Agile Framework approach.

The agency expects the system to be fielded in a cloud-based environment “using a develop-security-operations pipeline.”

“We’re building a first-of-its-kind enterprise system that brings together the complex integration of a number of disparate systems on an unprecedented scale,” said Raju Shah, NBIS program manager.

DISA officially awarded the OTA to Herndon, Va.-based Enterprise Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Perspecta that launched in June after DXC Technology spun off and merged its U.S. public sector business with Vencore and KeyPoint Government Solutions.
