NASA has released the final solicitation for the third iteration of the space agency’s potential eight-year Intelligent Systems Research and Development Support program.
A FedBizOpps notice posted Tuesday says the ISRDS-3 contract covers R&D work across several domains such as artificial intelligence, information processing and sensors, knowledge-based systems, software verification, quantum computing and data mining.
The contract has a two-year base term and three two-year option periods and consists of core management; core technology R&D and support; and indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity requirements, according to the statement of work.
The core management requirements include technical direction, contract compliance and quality assurance, resource tracking and acquisition, safety, health and environmental, risk management and government property management.
The technology R&D and support requirements call for prospective contractors to perform work in four technology areas: autonomous systems and robotics; software engineering; discovery and systems health; and collaborative and assistant systems.
The contract’s IDIQ requirements cover technology research areas, software systems engineering and project management and flight and mission operations support.
The agency’s Ames Research Center will accept proposals through Aug. 27 and plans to award the contract in January 2019.
