The U.S. Marine Corps has issued a request for white papers for a cloud-based data storage and analytics platform, Bloomberg Government reported Wednesday.
In the first phase of the effort, the service will use the prototype to assess data collected from Deployable Mission Support Systems. The Marine Corps will then develop more data analytics models, expand coverage and add subordinate commands in the second phase of the project.
The effort will be performed in coordination with the Consortium for Command, Control, Communication and Computer Technologies, and comply with a law requiring that OTA prototype projects include at least one participating non-traditional defense contractor or small business.
The Marine Corps will use fiscal 2018 funds to procure the prototype. Responses to the RWP will be accepted until July 30.
