The Department of Homeland Security has authorized designations for the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act to the access management and video surveillance products of a Motorola Solutions business.
Avigilon‘s Access Control Manager software was assigned the developmental testing and evaluation designation and the Avigilon Control Center was fully designated as a qualified anti-terrorism technology, Motorola Solutions said Tuesday.
Mahesh Saptharishi, chief technology officer at Avigilon, said the company’s video surveillance and access control systems help secure businesses, stadiums and cities.
The designation for the ACC suite covers video surveillance cameras and management software, networked recorders and system accessories.
Avigilon applied for the qualification for the SAFETY Act designations.
The SAFETY Act was ratified in 2002 to reduce risks for suppliers of anti-terrorism systems and services and spur the development and implementation of the technologies and techniques.
