Thomas Afferton, vice president of civil solutions at Northrop Grumman, has said the company will help update legacy systems at the State Department‘s Bureau of Consular Affairs through a potential 10-year, $850 million contract.
“We look forward to drawing on our deep experience in modernizing systems for defense, intel and civilian customers and applying our unique tools and methodologies to support Consular Affairs,” Afferton said in a statement released Friday.
The company will support the bureau’s digital transformation efforts meant to update technology platforms that support passport and visa application, adjudication and issuance, and citizen service delivery processes.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract was awarded in May and includes an initial value of $434.2 million.
