Stephen Labaton, president of North American business at communications firm Finsbury, will join Booz Allen Hamilton in July as executive vice president of corporate affairs.
He will oversee government and media relations, marketing, communications and corporate social responsibility functions in his new role, Booz Allen said Wednesday.
“Stephen is uniquely qualified to help us in the dialogue around critical issues for our clients and society and bring together our colleagues across government, industry and community to exchange ideas,” said Nancy Laben, Booz Allen chief legal officer.
Labaton previously spent more than two decades as a reporter at The New York Times, where he earned a Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism.
He serves on the advisory board of Columbia University’s Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism and board of visitors at Duke University School of Law.
Labaton is slated to assume the position of president of the Juvenile Law Center’s board in September.
