The Defense Security Service has chosen Leido‘s Reston, Va.-based corporate security office as one of the 39 recipients of the 2018 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award.
Roger Krone, chairman and chief executive officer of Leidos, and a five-time Wash100 winner, said in a statement published Thursday that the Cogswell award reflects the firm’s work in adopting and prioritizing best security and safety practices.
The award is given to companies that launch security programs that meet and surpass the requirements of the National Industrial Security Program, which partly focuses on public-private coordination in protecting classified data.
DSS selects facilities that have achieved at least two consecutive “superior†industrial security review ratings, as well as showed progress in their security program management and implementation.
