The U.S. Coast Guard has granted Knight Point Systems an authority to operate under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program to offer the company’s infrastructure-as-a-service platform to government organizations.
Reston, Va.-based Knight Point received ATO certification on May 22 for the CloudSeed IaaS offering designed to help federal clients view, manage and secure workloads in the cloud.
The service provides customers a single view of information technology infrastructure assets across public, federal community and private cloud environments, other cloud-based technology platforms and on-premise virtual machines.
CloudSeed is built to help agencies manage compute, storage and network resources through the KPS tool called “Zeus,” which can support both pre-existing and new IT systems.
Prior to the FedRAMP certification, Coalfire Systems evaluated CloudSeed as an independent third party assessment organization under the federal government’s cloud security program.
Knight Point also seeks to obtain a high-level provisional authorization to provide the service to the Defense Department.
