Johns Hopkins APL Makes 'Best Places to Work in IT' List; Michael Misumi Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting event

IDG’s Computerworld has featured Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in the publication’s 2018 list of best places to work for information technology professionals.

APL said Tuesday it placed 16th among the 59 large organizations selected for the annual list, which also includes 21 midsize and 20 small institutions.

The lab also ranked eighth among the top 10 IT companies recognized for their training processes.

Michael Misumi, chief information officer of APL, said the distinction reflects the work environment at the facility’s information technology services department.

“In ITSD we continue to focus on making a difference: by creating the digital workplace that allows APL staff members to innovate for our sponsors,” Misumi added.

Computerworld selects 100 top IT employers each year based on criteria such as benefits, career development, training and retention, as well as reputation among their own employees.
