General Dynamics land systems unit has secured a potential $30.1 million contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to provide electronic components for integration into U.S. Army‘s M1A1 Abrams tank platform.
The Defense Department said Wednesday the sole-source contract contains one base year along with a six-month option.
Work will take place in Florida and Michigan through October 27, 2020.
The Army will use fiscal 2018 through 2020 working capital funds to finance the procurement of vehicle electronics.
General Dynamics landed a separate potential three-year, $2.63 billion contract in late 2017 to convert the current Abrams model to the M1A2 System Enhancement Package Version 3 configuration.
