Fortinet and Interpol have signed an agreement to facilitate sharing of cyber threat data in an effort to counter cyber crimes and mitigate privacy threats.
The company said Tuesday it will designate a threat intelligence professional to work with the Singapore-based Interpol Global Complex for Innovation to assess the threat landscape and help law enforcement officers address privacy and security risks through data from its FortiGuard Labs‘ global research team.
“Actionable threat intelligence with global visibility is the best way to move from being reactive to proactive in a world where cybercrime has no borders,†said Derek Manky, global security strategist at Fortinet.
Manky noted that public-private collaboration and threat information sharing play a critical role in getting a complete view of the threat landscape.
Fortinet has been sharing cyber threat intelligence data with Interpol for over two years as a member of the international law enforcement organization’s expert working group.
