Deloitte Survey Cites Gap in Public Sector C-Suite Collaboration; John Forsythe Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventA new Deloitte survey has found that only 21 percent of public sector respondents believe their agencies’ C-suite leaders collaborate on strategic projects and initiatives.

“With only 21 percent of government respondents saying that their C-suite leaders work together on strategic projects, it is not surprising that government respondents also had low scores related to new technologies and career pathways trends,” John Forsythe, managing director and government and public services human capital leader at Deloitte Consulting, said in a statement published Monday.

“Automation, gig workers and other big changes necessitate a more holistic approach across an organization to drive real, meaningful adoption,” he added.

Deloitte polled over 800 public sector professionals for the government and public services perspective of the “2018 Global Human Capital Trends Survey” and found that 59 percent of the respondents said they consider hybrid workforce management as “important” or “very important.”

The report showed that 35 percent of the respondents said they think they are ready for the “careers to experiences” trend and that nearly 60 percent of them have not integrated the aging workforce into their organizational strategy.

Sixty-three percent of polled individuals said they believe cognitive technology and artificial intelligence will significantly impact their workforce in the next two years, while 69 percent cited their concerns about staff’s response to change and tech interaction as the primary reason that hamper AI and robotics adoption.

The survey also found that 35 percent of the respondents said they are ready for big data and that 66 percent said they think connected work platforms help drive productivity.
