Bechtel has announced plans to consolidate its corporate leadership teams and operations into a new global headquarters in Reston, Va., by the end of the year.
The company said Thursday it will also transfer corporate positions from Houston and San Francisco to Virginia.
Jack Futcher, chief operating officer of Bechtel, said the consolidation effort is intended to support the firm’s integration, collaboration and decision-making processes.
Bechtel currently supports and pursues multiple infrastructure and energy projects within the states of California and Texas.
The company noted it will continue to operate a facility in San Francisco and retain the main office for its oil, gas and chemicals business in Houston.
Bechtel’s infrastructure unit has opened an office in southern California.
