Several cloud service industry experts and Amazon Web Services’ customers and partners recently took part in a podcast on digital transformation, as well as how the cloud contributes to such phenomenon.
AWS said Friday Adelaide O’Brien, research director of IDC Government Digital Transformation Strategies, believes a change in leadership and culture in different business aspects such as asset management and information technology will enable digital transformation.
She added that there is a need for companies to consider how investing in new programs and technologies and incorporating commercial systems and best practices could lead to future-proof cloud decisions.
Laverne Council, national managing principal of enterprise technology strategy and innovation at Grant Thornton, noted that balancing economy and agility is important in enabling cloud transformation, for which the chief information officer in any organization is responsible.
According to AWS, the cloud’s growth in government leads to more focus on cybersecurity and risk management.
Stratus Solutions CEO Dede Dascalu also explained in the podcast how a strong cloud infrastructure needs to support cloud governance.
