Accenture has established a facility in Arlington, Va., in a move to help organizations adopt new data protection and cybersecurity platforms.
The company said Wednesday it will collaborate with clients at the Cyber Fusion Center to test cyber defense tools and help them predict attacks.
The 28,000-square-foot facility has an incident response “war room†equipped with modern technology and a hardware test center focused on identifying approaches to detect cyber vulnerabilities, as well as perform reverse engineering methods to analyze defensive countermeasures.
“Cybersecurity is a global issue that affects all industries, and Accenture has played a longstanding role in the security innovation ecosystem in metro D.C.,†said Julie Sweet, CEO of Accenture’s North American business.
The company plans to invest in business expansion efforts across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and create up to 1,000 high-technology positions in areas such as security and cloud through 2020.

“There are few imperatives more pressing than protecting our government and business networks from the vulnerabilities of cyberattacks,†said Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va.
“Accenture’s new Cyber Fusion Center is contributing the innovation, talent and leadership that is critical to prevent – and defeat – cyber threats,” Warner added.
