The Department of State‘s information resource management bureau is conducting market research into infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service offerings as part of a cloud migration project.
DOS said in a FedBizOpps notice posted Friday IRM aims to migrate its information technology applications and services to cloud platforms authorized under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
The bureau currently examines industry’s capacity to deliver PaaS and IaaS via an authorized public sector reseller.
IRM is interested in working with providers that can offer on-demand memory, processing, storage and networking services in a cloud environment.
A selected vendor could also provide a technology platform for the bureau to manage virtual data centers and virtual machines.
Responses to the request for information notice are due June 8.
