Serco Inc., the British contractor’s North American arm, has received a potential $11.7 million contract to support the U.S. Air Force‘s medical coding compliance efforts.

The company said Tuesday it will examine the Air Force Medical Service documentation and help AFMS ensure codes that the branch’s treatment facilities enter into the Military Health System comply with policies, regulations and standards.

Dave Dacquino, chairman and CEO of Serco Inc., said he believes the company’s acquisition and program management expertise can support the AFMS mission.

The contract is for four and a half years of work.

Data integration efforts play a role in AFMS’ provider currency, workload, decision support, population health, disability and reimbursement services, the company noted.
