Donald Robinson, chief technology officer of General Dynamics‘ information technology unit, has said the company aims to secure Impact Level 6 authorization for the milCloud 2.0 platform by 2019 to help the Defense Department manage classified data, Nextgov reported Wednesday.
MilCloud 2.0 is powered by CSRA, which General Dynamics bought for approximately $9.7 billion in April and integrated into the GDIT business.
The acquisition came one year after the Defense Information Systems Agency approved the private cloud platform to host controlled unclassified data for Impact Level 5 systems.
DISA awarded CSRA a $498 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in June 2017 to provide milCloud 2.0 commercial infrastructure services to DoD and its partners.
