Jeff Elder, the current head of the lethality unit of Modern Technology Solutions Inc.‘s army and missile defense division, has received the Technology Award from the National Defense Industrial Association’s Tennessee Valley chapter.
The award recognizes Elder’s technical contributions to the fields of lethality analysis, modeling and simulation and the effectiveness of kinetic energy weapons systems, the company said Thursday.
Elder received the award during the 2018 NDIA-TVC Membership Dinner on April 24 in Huntsville, Ala. that featured Maj. Gen. Douglas Gabram, commanding general of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command, as the event’s speaker.
NDIA-TVC provides a platform for the defense industry and federal agencies to network and converse and also awards scholarships and fellowships for activities in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics areas.
The Internal Revenue Service has designated NDIA as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The association aims to provide information on national security for constituencies and includes 1,600 corporate and 85,000 individual members.
