Endeavor Robotics has secured a $10 million contract to provide small unmanned ground vehicles to the U.S Marine Corps.
FirstLook robots are designed to clear buildings, detect explosives and explore through confined spaces, Endeavor Robotics said Monday.
The five-pound UGV uses camera and two-way audio systems to function as “eyes and ears” and keep operators safe from potential threats.
Each unit is built to be hand-thrown into target areas, climb obstacles up to seven inches and resist impact after dropping onto concrete from up to 20 feet.
Marines will receive FirstLook robots fitted with the uPoint Multi-Robot Control System designed to provide a common tablet-based connection for controllers.
