Lockheed Martin has received a potential six-year, $31.4 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force maintain and update software on the C-5M Galaxy military transport aircraft.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract also includes maintenance and engineering support for the service branch’s Systems Integration Laboratory, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
USAF will obligate $4.9 million in fiscal 2017 through fiscal 2023 transportation funds at the time of award.
Lockheed’s aeronautics business will perform work in Marietta, Georgia, through May 13, 2024.
C-5M is designed to carry 20 percent more payload and consume less fuel than the predecessor model.
