Leidos has received a $33.7 million contract modification to provide scientific and technical services for a Defense Threat Reduction Agency program that aims to thwart biological threats.
DTRA exercised the option period 1 of a previously awarded time-and-materials contract for the company to support multiple projects under the Cooperative Biological Engagement program, the Defense Department said Monday.
The program uses an interagency framework to prevent the spread of materials, equipment, technology platforms and expertise used to produce biological weapons.
Work under the modification will occur at various locations worldwide through May 13, 2019.
Three one-year options remain on the original contract, for which DTRA received 11 proposals.
