Kratos Defense and Security Solutions will support U.S. and allied space missions and commercial satellite communications and operations for national security through several contracts worth an estimated $55 million combined.

The company said Wednesday it will provide products and services for applications such as cloud-optimized architectures, end-to-end service assurance, satellite command and control and signal monitoring under the space and satellite communications contracts.

Phil Carrai, president of Kratos’ space, cybersecurity and training business, said the renewed worldwide interest in the space domain and the development of technologies such as small and high-throughput satellites have advanced the space industry.

“In an increasingly crowded and contested environment, it is becoming increasingly clear that the ability to defend and operate in space will depend more and more upon the ability to manage from the ground,” added Carrai.

Kratos supplies products meant to support more than 85 percent of U.S. space missions and over 75 percent of international satellite operations.

The company aims to provide identification, location and interference mitigation services through its global and commercial network of radio-frequency sensors for use in space.

Kratos also launched recently its services for space situational awareness that will employ its RF sensor network.
