Intelleuron Secures DHS Funds to Build, Test UAS Reconnaissance Tech - top government contractors - best government contracting eventIntelleuron will design, build and test a reconnaissance technology to aid in Customs and Border Protection operations as part of a $199,977 contract from the Department of Homeland Security.

DHS said Tuesday the company aims to produce a portable small UAS designed to help CBP agents detect potential threats across different types of terrain and weather.

The department awarded the project using “other transaction authority” under the Silicon Valley Innovation Program.

SVIP offers non-dilutive funds that could reach $800,000 over four phases in an effort to adapt commercial technology platforms that can support DHS’ security mission.

Idaho-based Intelleuron develops technology in the artificial intelligence, autonomous navigation vehicle systems and feature extraction areas.
