Huntington Ingalls-BWXT JV to Begin Los Alamos Site Cleanup Under $1.4B DOE Contract - top government contractors - best government contracting eventN3B is set to commence environmental cleanup efforts at the Los Alamos National Laboratory after the Huntington Ingalls IndustriesBWX Technologies joint venture completed a transition period under the terms of a potential $1.39 billion contract from the Energy Department.

Huntington Ingalls said Tuesday that N3B hired personnel, assessed conditions, established a working procedure and implemented business systems at LANL during the 97-day transition process that concluded April 30.

Contract work will include environmental monitoring and remediation, decontamination, decommissioning and waste management and disposition services.

The contract previously held by the Los Alamos National Security consortium expired March 31.
