Scott Weldon, previously chief procurement officer at Huntington Ingalls Industries, has been selected to replace Lori Harper in the role of vice president of supply chain management at the company’s shipbuilding division.
Weldon will immediately take over the management of Ingalls Shipbuilding‘s supply chain operations, overseeing sourcing, procurement, material warehousing and inventory control, the company said Wednesday. Harper is set to retire on Aug. 1st.
“Scott is an outstanding professional and has excelled in leadership and performance in his previous roles across the organization,†said Brian Cuccias, president of Ingalls Shipbuilding.
Cuccias added that Weldon’s supply chain management team will help the company meet its schedule and costs requirements for the delivery of materials.
Weldon has led various operations across the shipyard since he joined the company in 1998. In addition, he served as an adjunct professor for technical and occupational mathematics at the Ingalls Apprentice School and was recognized as Instructor of the Year in 2017.
